An entertaining story

this story is about Maddie and Linc who both stranded after a plane wreck. both of them can't stand each other nerve's. Linc hated Maddie's rudeness and intended to change her bad attitude meanwhile Maddie is in a danger of falling in love with the Texas talking Linc. if you read "To Claim A Bride" written also by Susan Fox, you will find out that Maddie is related to Caitlin, her cousin. Maddie was not close with Caitlin because of a terrible incident. since that Maddie never spoke to her and she rapidly changed from a sweet, soft spoken sweetheart into a sharp tongued woman. this story also potrays how Maddie realized her mistake and tried to change it with Linc's help. it was hard for people who knows her that she's changed but she tried to accept it. this book is really good, it's a combination of love and terrible past.

Two Mean People.

Don't bother with the tissue. Madison St.John lived with her mean cold grandmother, Caitline Bodine was her much loved cousin, she and Maddie were best friends. Until the only man she ever loved Beau Duvall was killed by her beloved cousin Cat. After Beau's death Maddie hated Cat, and she let that hatred spill into everything she did. She knew her grandmother was mean but much respected.
Lincoln Coryell was a self made man, but because he had to get things the hard way he became mean, hard headed and set in his ways, Link decided he wanted to teach Maddie a lesson.
So when they became stranded he made it his job to push Maddie as hard as he could, until her feet bled, and instead of becoming meaner, she began to melt, she feel in love with Link, because at times, not often but some of the time he showed her tenderness. Link feel in love with Maddie, but she had to be the one to change, not him.
Maddie made up with Cat, and Reno.
Link never really made the hero stamp most of Susan Fox's men do.
This was my least favorite book by Susan Fox.
But don't worry The next book more than makes up for this one, and so does her next 6.

Thorough, clear, and with a sprinkling of snark make this the best book I've read on "hygge," and I've read LOTS of them. Still looking for someone who can translate the concepts of summer hygge-ing from the cool, crisp woodlands and beaches of Scandinavia to the soggy, humid, bug-infested backyards of America though.

Everyone trying to figure out what lens can be used to improve life on a day to day basis will enjoy this book. It contemplates how to add coziness and provides details of how the Danes do and have for many years. Candles, companions, and comfort. One of my favorite parts describes conversation with no one showing off. Sounds kind of ideal to me!

About the Author

Laurence Libin, editor-in-chief of The Grove Dictionary of Musical Instruments (Oxford University Press), is honorary curator of Steinway & Sons, and emeritus curator of musical instruments at The Metropolitan Museum of Art (1973-2006), where he was first incumbent of the endowed Frederick P. Rose chair. Educated as a harpsichordist and musicologist at Northwestern University, the University of Chicago, and King's College, University of London, Mr. Libin has taught in the graduate schools of Columbia University and New York University, including the NYU Institute of Fine Arts, and lectures internationally. His work has been supported by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Museum Act (Smithsonian Institution), the International Research and Exchanges (IREX) program of the U.S. Department of State, the National Antique and Art Dealers League, the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Fund, CEC International Partners, the Likhachev Foundation, and other sources.

In addition to numerous exhibitions, Laurence Libin has produced two nationally syndicated radio series as well as many recordings from the Metropolitan Museum's collection, and has published more than 150 articles, reviews, catalogues, and monographs. He was co-editor of the 2008 and 2009 Organ Yearbooks. He is a frequent consultant to private collectors, museums, and cultural institutions worldwide, and a leading spokesman for historical preservation. In 2006 the Galpin Society (UK) awarded him the Anthony Baines Memorial Prize for services to organology, and in 2009 he received the Curt Sachs Award for lifetime achievement from the American Musical Instrument Society.

Mr. Libin is a Life Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. He has been president of the Organ Historical Society, vice-president of the American Musical Instrument Society, and has served on the National Council of the American Musicological Society and on its Noah Greenberg and Howard Mayer Brown Award Committees, as a member of the Comité International des Musées et Collections d'Instruments de Musique, and on governing boards of the American Organ Archives and OHS Press. He has been a member of the editorial board of the American Recorder Society and of advisory councils of Red Cedar Chamber Music (Cedar Rapids, Iowa), the Medici Archive Project (Florence, Italy), the MusicaRussia Foundation, Early Music America, the New York Flute Club, the Boston Early Music Festival, the Boston Baroque and Classical Band orchestras, the Instituto de Órganos Históricos de Oaxaca (Mexico), and grant review panels of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

As such, Studio Studies responds to three contemporary concerns in social and cultural thought: first, how to account for the situated nature of creative and cultural production; second, the challenge of reimagining creativity as a socio-materially distributed practice rather than the cognitive privilege of the individual; and finally, to unravel the parallels, contrasts and interconnections between studios and other sites of cultural-aesthetic and technoscientific production, notably laboratories. By enquiring into the operations, topologies and displacements that shape and format studios, this volume aims to demarcate a novel and important object of analysis for empirical social and cultural research as well to develop new conceptual repertoires to unpack the multiple ways studio processes shape our everyday lives.

About the Author

Ignacio Far�as is a sociologist and an Assistant Professor of the Munich Center for Technology in Society and the Faculty of Architecture at the Technische Universit�t M�nchen. Ignacio works on science and technology studies, urban studies and cultural sociology with a focus on infrastructural transitions and participation. He is co-editor of Urban Assemblages. How Actor-Network Theory Changes Urban Studies (Routledge 2009) and Urban Cosmpolitics. Agencements, Assemblies, Atmospheres (Routledge, Forthcoming).

Alex Wilkie is a Senior Lecturer in Design and a sociologist. He leads both the MA: Interaction Design programme and the Ph.D. programme in Design Studies at Goldsmiths, University of London. Alex works on user studies, design, HCI, inventive methods, practice-based research, process theory and science and technology studies. The book starts with the famous opening, "It was a dark and stormy night . . . ." This is a classic; however, the style is long-winded, and I've grown accustomed to the learner writing of today. I quit about 1/2 through.

Forget What You Think You Know, Here is the Reality of Consumer Behavior

As a consumer psychology professional this is one of the most refreshing and honest business books that I have read. I highly suggest to any marketer, business owner, or consumer psychology professional to read this book. Graves pulls no punches, lays out the research and demonstrates the fact that as consumers go we are not nearly as cognitive or intentional when it comes to buying behavior as we would like to credit ourselves.

Unfortunately the general public and much of psychology attempts to dismiss the fact that majority of our behavior is automatic, reflexive, or dare I say unconscious. Graves demonstrates through sound research that we are easily influenced by our environments despite our attempt to try and overcome them with thinking.

This book has tremendous practical value for business. He points out the seriousness of applying sound psychological behavioral principles that are measurable. He clearly demonstrates throughout the book that we are not nearly as cognizant of what we do (which makes the typical consumer automatically react with anger by the way) when it comes to purchasing behavior as we believe and offers sound suggestions for improving how we can measure consumer behavior in business.

The bottom line is this: The research is empirical, robust and accurate. His principles are well founded. Your business will be better for it. Buy the book!

The affection photographer and Martha's Vineyard resident Alison Shaw feels for her immediate surroundings is clearly expressed in each of her photos of the island. Shaw turns her lens on everything from the architectural details of island houses to fresh blueberries in their crates at the farmer's market and early-morning fisherman at Sengekontacket. She is not afraid to experiment with various polarizing and density filters, which give her images a range of dreamy effects--purple fog lifting off a lagoon, a fiery orange sunset at Paul's Point--and supersaturated colors. This is Shaw's second book of photography of the Vineyard. Her images are strong and colorful, though not always inventive. Still, readers who share her passion for the Vineyard should be happy to peruse this book.

Alison Shaw is the director of graphics and design at the Vineyard Gazette, the art director at Martha's Vineyard Magazine and a photographer for both publications. She is a four-time winner of the New England Press Association Photographer of the Year Award.

Excellent Photographer!

I am not from Martha's Vineyard nor have I ever been there; however, after discovering Alison Shaw's photograpy in other books, I knew I had to have this one. She does not disappoint. This is a wonderful book to peruse on gray days with feet up and tea in hand...or summer at the beach...or before retiring for the night. I would highly recommend it.

Practical worksheets for change

Bought this as a gift for my teen-age son because he uses the title phrase often! In leafing through it, discovered the worksheets at the end of the book and started using them to journal - they DO work - especially after reading the book. Dr Ryce does simplify things to make his points; however, the book resonated loudly for me. Better yet, it resonated for my son. Other reviewers can say what they want about the stature of this book in relation to some others out there, but it was well worth the price of this book for the worksheets alone.

I could actually apply these ideas in my life. Exciting!!

In reading this book I could see myself and that I am not the only one who feels the way I do. It was neet to see how Richard applied what Dr. Ryce taught him, I am doing some of the same things he did, and can now see a way to work out of the conflict I've been in for so long. This is how you spell relief, its working.
I am doing the worksheets from the last chapter and things are changing. I've read every self help book I could find over the last ten years and this is the best one yet. James Redfield was right, I think this is going to change my life forever.

Fantastic! Mind-Expanding! One of the best books EVER!
