interesting & compelling excerpts from Joe McNally's photographic journey

Over his career, Joe McNally has captured many compelling images and experiences. The blog entries included in this volume are less about photographic technique and more about his experiences, thoughts and people interactions as a photographer. I thoroughly enjoyed this volume.

A Great Read from a Great Photographer and a Better Person

I've followed and been inspired by Joe McNally since receiving my first portfolio review several years ago. He's a photographer steeped in the history of the art and craft of photography and has a reverence for it, as well as an irreverence for his own place in it. Joe is as good a writer as a photographer, which is a considerable thing. This book is a collection of treasures, not just about technique and inspiration about the possibilities of photography, but (perhaps more importantly) glimpses of a life well-lived pursuing that thing he is compelled to do, and through which we are all the better for it. Highly recommended.

Gifted storyteller who is also a professional photographer and photography teacher.

Joe is a gifted storyteller who is also a professional photographer and photography teacher. Joe could probably have earned his living as a writer but his readers (this is the fourth book by him that I have read) are grateful that he went into photography so that we can benefit from his writings on the subject. And, we also admire and get to learn from his images. If you liked Joe McNally's other books then buying this book should be a no-brainer for you.
